Why Study RE?
RE is not just about learning facts and figures. Religion can be considered the most important influence on the lives of everyone in the world. Even if we think that we do not believe in any religion, and that it is nothing to do with us, nevertheless, it affects a great many aspects of our everyday lives, wherever we live.
Aims and Objectives
In the teaching of RE we aim: To enable pupils to explore and to come to an understanding of the nature of Religious beliefs and practices and their importance in the lives of believers; To give pupils the opportunity to develop, continue in, or come to their own beliefs and values for life;
Skills and Attitudes
We will approach the development of children’s awareness of religion in two ways: Through developing an understanding of the beliefs, teachings and practices of different religious traditions.Through exploring both the ideas and beliefs of different religions and of the pupils themselves.
