Copthorne lost the toss and were put in to bat. We made 300 runs in our 20 overs, losing only 1 wicket in our innings. We amassed a huge total in our innings, thanks in part to some errant bowling, but also thanks to some good running between the wickets.  Charlie and Kieron were the pair who ran and communicated best.  Our top scorers today were Charlie who made 15 runs off 12 balls, Josh with 12 from 13, Bradley with 9 from 11 and Ayaan with 9 runs off 15 balls. Duke of Kent managed 132 runs...

We lost the toss and were put in to bat. Copthorne scored 211, with no single batsman really making a big score though Zac (8), Charlie (7) and Freddie (6) were our top three run-scorers.  Luke and Bradley also contributed nicely with 5 runs each. In reply, Cumnor made 212, beating us by a single run.  This was a tense and exciting game, with every single ball gaining in importance as the came reached its climax.  Unfortunately we ended up narrowly losing, and regretting every small mistake that...

We won the toss and put Brambletye in to bat. Brambletye made 182 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. We did not bowl particularly well, and gave away quite a lot of runs as extras, but some of our bowlers really did perform nicely: Bradley took one wicket for 5 runs, and Josh took a wicket for only 4 runs.  Luke, Ayaan and Zac all got a wicket each too. Copthorne made 282 runs for the loss of only 1 wicket. Brambletye struggled to find the right line and length, and we batted very nicely.  Our top...

Copthorne lost the toss and were put in. We made 100 runs in our 24 overs. Our best batsmen were Zac who scored 12 runs from 15 balls.  Amardip made 10 from 16 balls and Bradley faced only 7 balls but still managed to score 6 runs.  Windlesham bowled quite well and fielded with enthusiasm, and our total was definitely not one that would allow any room for complacency in the field. We bowled and fielded pretty well, allowing Windlesham to score only 75 runs in their innings.  Everyone got to bowl...

Copthorne won the toss and chose to bat.  We did not do particularly well with the bat, with our openers both getting run out quite early on.  Ben occupied the crease for the longest, but none of our batsmen managed more than 2 runs, with Louis the only man unbeaten as we scraped through to the 20th over to eke out a total of 54 runs.  We definitely needed to be more pro-active in going for the quick single, as our running was a little conservative. We did better with the ball in hand than the...

Copthonrne    36    Ashdown    19 Scorers: Tries: German (2), Sam (3), Lani.           Conversions: Evan 2, Sam 1. It was a case of meeting up with old foes and old friends this afternoon as the seconds took on Ashdown.  It was great to see Mr Fitt again; now disguised as the Ashdown coach and referee for our match today.  Ashdown started off well by kicking deep.  Evan ran the ball back strongly, making good ground, and this was something that he did all afternoon for us. ...

Copthorne    7 tries    Pennthorpe    0 Scorers:  Zevon (2), Zach, Bradley (2), Beau (2), Charlie The Under 9As continued their excellent form this season with an emphatic win at Pennthorpe.  Our opponents came quite close to scoring against us on a couple of occasions, but once again our defence held up well, with Charlie and Elliot making the most tackles for us and Kieron and Zevon competing well in the rucks.  The pitch was quite narrow, and we often fell into the trap of trying to...
