82 children in the Pre-Prep department perfomed their French version of The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf to a packed theatre on Friday, as part of their French Day celebrations.   The cast included lapins, oiseaux, herissons et poussins as well as other woodland and farmyard creatures, all of whom were able to get away from the Mechant Loup!  The pigs built straw, wood and brick houses as in the traditional tale and the wolf had his bottom badly burnt!  The play was in French from... 

Fete Weekend starts tonight with the Quiz Night .. sold out as usual!  The Fete itself on Sunday from 12 noon – 4.30pm. Come and join in the Circus fun, giant inflatables, pony rides and maggot racing.  Enjoy a Pimms and all day barbeque while listening to the live Bands!

This Friday we will be raising money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake.  Children are allowed to come to school in home clothes, and are asked to bring in a minimum donation of £2 for the appeal.

Year 1 Gardening Club were able to start their activity yesterday, and began by digging up the leeks planted by last year’s group.  They turned out to have weathered the snow remarkably well and every child was able to take home (and cook?) one or two mini leeks!

6 children from Year 2 represented the school at the Sussex U7 Closed Chess Championships held at Fonthill Lodge School last weekend.  The team, Emma Dodson, Freya Finnegan, Daniel Gooda, Benjamin Jennings, Ben Kinnear & Ben Voller played in 5 rounds each, in a competition that had a total of 13 schools from the county present.  As a team, they achieved 2nd place, which was a wonderful achievement in their first tournament.  The children have been learning chess as an after school activity... 

Mrs Prowley’s class had a new member arriving this week, a goldfish named Fred. Each child will take it in turns to feed Fred and help to clean his tank out each week. Many thanks to Lucy Jones for the surprise present. We promise to take good care of Fred, maybe even getting a friend for him soon.

This week the nursery enjoyed another annual visit from the Zoolab. Chris (from the Zoolab) brought along lots of interesting animals, including a stick insect called Twiggy, a tarantula called Rosie, a cornsnake called Jake, a snail called Brian, a millipede called Milly and a Tiger-Salamander called Randal. The children were encouraged to hold some of the minibeasts. Learning about their natural habitats and lots of other interesting little facts. We were all really surprised to hear that millipedes...
