Year 3 Vegetable garden
Thanks to the Fete Committee and Mr Lee the year 3 children have a wonderful flower and vegetable garden in front of the New Block. We are also grateful to Mr Hall (Nicholas 3KW) for coming to help us fill up the planters and then to build us a natural hazel wigwam for our runner beans and tomatoes. We have also planted carrots (just coming through), lettuce (this looks like cress Mrs Wade), cabbage and cucumbers (feel the frost has got these). We will watch these plants grow over the summer term and hopefully be able to take some of our produce read the full post »
CLIMBING TOWER
Now that the tower is complete we would like to confirm with all parents that they are happy for their children to use the tower. All children wishing to participate in tower activities need to have a valid parent consent form signed. If you have already completed one of these (most parents have) but no longer wish your child to use the facility, please e-mail Stuart Lee at slee@copthorneprep.co.uk Outside of afterschool activities, we will also be offering this activity on some Wednesday afternoons. Outdoor activities!
I think that outdoor activities is a brilliant idea, I think this because you can learn some really useful survival skills such as lighting a controlled/warm fire for sleeping next to, I like the outdoors because of the fresh air. I do a lot of outdoor activities including: camp craft/skills, orienteering, I also did archery a while ago, I am still doing rock climbing as well, I can’t wait till our schools abseil tower is useable, I think that all of the abseil tower will be great but I think my favourite thing on it will be the zip wire. read the full post »
Abseil Tower, Climbing Wall and Zip Wire
After nearly twelve months we have received planning permission for our Abseil and Climbing tower. The expected start date for construction is 13 February 2012. The tower will be ten meters high with two Climbing routes and two Abseil routes. The Zip Wire will launch from the top of the tower and will be approximately 120 meters in length. This will be an exciting and exhilarating new activity base for the school.

After School Activities – Climbing
Please note that the “Climbing Skills” activitiy will be based on the Schools bouldering wall behind the sports hall. If your Child would like to climb on an indoor climbing wall they will need to be booked onto the “Climb at K2″ activity option (for Tuesdays and Thursdays 6-8pm with Mr Lee). Thank you.
