3KW Assembly

Thank you to all the parents who stayed to watch our assembly – the children were so excited and keen to show them how much they had improved with their reading aloud from the Autumn term. Our theme was the first Olympics in Greece. The children were in houses and each house represented a different Greek state. Well done to Sparta for winning and well done to Athens, Corinth and Argos for taking part. You were fab Year 3 – well done!

Fantastic Mr Fox

Today, after our final performance last night, we have a lot of very tired foxes in the classroom. However the whole of Year 3 are feeling very proud of their huge achievements in learning so many lines and putting on so many performances throughout the week. They have acted in front of the whole school in four different performances as well as two evenings to their families and friends. Their class teachers are extremely proud of them all and think they deserve a good rest over half term. They all enjoyed the experience of acting in the theatre. Well done!

What a talented bunch!

4TP put on a fantastic assembly this morning, all about their individual talents.  We had footballers, artists, musicians, a scientist, an ICT expert and actors. I was very proud of their performance – even a last minute change of venue did not put them off their stride!

Year 3KW Class Assembly

With only a couple of days notice for our class assembly we were delighted to see so many parents in the Rendall Room on Tuesday morning. Quickly the class changed into their Egyptian costumes and they clearly spoke their lines to Years 5 and 7 alongside their families. Mrs Wade would like to thank Mrs Vaughan for getting the costumes out of her loft for the weekend and also Mrs Thomas for helping to wrap Jonathan in his ‘mummies’ costume. She couldn’t have done it without them! All of the children thoroughtly deserved their double effort star for this production. read the full post »

Year 5 costumes for Oliver!

The costumes for the orphans will consist of a simple pair of plain trousers (either grey, brown or black) with a white t-shirt.  If you do not have an old pair of trousers or an old, white t-shirt then “George” at Asda does the above range and they sell the trousers from £3 and the t-shirts come in a twin pack for £1.50.  These items are also available from “Fred & Florence” at Tesco or in the “Tu” range at Sainsburys.  We will need to cut the bottoms off the trousers for that authentic look and the t-shirts will need read the full post »

Dancing & Drama success for Lucy Billingham-West

Lucy has spent several days over the Half Term holiday at the Orpington Festival of Dance. She found herself, once again, competing in large groups of up to thirty-five dancers, but managed nonetheless to be placed amongst the medal winners in every section she danced in – securing three silver and one bronze medal in her Ballet, Modern & Character solo and trio dances.  She also performed at the Gala Premiere Awards on the final day of the Festival, for which she received a “special mention” for her musicality and expression in her Ballet performance. Lucy has also had much success with recent  read the full post »

SCHOOL DRAMA PRODUCTION

- next term Auditions for next terms’ School Production will be held on Thursday 18th  November. Audition scripts will be available for pupils in Years 6 – 8 to take home on Wednesday to prepare for Thursdays auditions. These do not need to be learnt off by heart! All successful participants need to realise that a production of this scale will involve some Sunday rehearsals and compulsory attendance at after school rehearsals (4.30 – 5.20pm) depending on which scenes are being rehearsed. This will mean that selected  children will need to commit totally to the production!
