The French Concert went beautifully … and was a wonderful start to French Day. All 240 children from Younger Nursery up to Year 4 sang, danced, wiggled and smiled as they sung a variety of French songs to a huge audience of proud parents. The progression of French through the school was plain to see when three Year 7 boys gave French presentations on their holidays and hobbies, and recited French poems by Victor Hugo and Louise Labé. The confidence, enjoyment and pride was obvious in all...
The Nursery Children have been busy making French flags this week. They were displayed in the Sports Hall for French day where the children sang their songs beautifully and looked splendid in the French styled outfits! The Older Nursery children had lots of fun designing their own flags this week. They thought about how they would like their flags to look and used lots of different materials to create a flag that represented them. Well done years 3 and 4. Your singing at the French Day concert was fantastic and I hope you enjoyed taking part in it. Please remember to sign up the double effort stars either with your form teacher or in our next French lesson. Headmaster’s Commendation to all those who wrote and performed French speaking parts for the concert ! Madame Dodson
Just to let you know that on Friday Years 3 & 4 will be joining Pre-prep in their French Day celebrations. Both 3s and 4s will be singing some of the songs that we have learned in our French lessons. The concert begins at 9 AM and should not last more than an hour. Year 3 and 4 pupils will go back into lessons after the concert. As it is non-uniform day I have asked pupils to wear something red, blue and/or white. No Football/rugby tops please for the performance. Merci Madame Dodson

They still love to sing the songs from ‘les Aventures de Lapin’. This year we would like to invite both years 2 and 6 to join us in the performances. A...
Year 6 pupils have been using the website Voki to create a character and make it speak in French by typing in a text which was then spoken out by their character. Here are a few examples of what pupils have done. Please click on the links below to view some samples of our work. Bonjour. Year 3 will be starting their new topic in French. They will be learning the words for places and directions in town. Some of the words that they are learning will be on the linguascope games-but not all of them. Year 4 have started their new topic on clothes. They can practise this vocabulary on Linguascope on the beginner’s level. If you have any queries please contact me by email or after school. Merci! Madame Dodson Year 4 have also been learning how to use French Dictionaries...
