The B’s started off our afternoon matches in a very positive way. We saw a rock solid defence being provided by Jayden and Ben. Both defenders were on top form making sure the ball was quickly dispatched up field. Luca played a crucial role in dropping back to help out on the counter. Half way through the first half Copthorne conceded first through a long range stunner out of nowhere. This motivated the boys to try even harder especially in attack. Sam was getting into great positions but was...

On Wednesday the 14th the U8 A’s took to the field fired up to finish on a high for their last football game of the season. We were caught by surprise with St Christopher’s scoring two fabulous long range goals. The boys then quickly regained focus and good communication between Jamie Hannah and Joseph Cumming saw that the rest of the half was goalless. The aim of the second half was to get some goals in the bag and so with that in mind the second half started. St Christopher capitalised on our...

Well it was another cold afternoon as the 3rds took to the field for their last game of soccer and for some it was the last game they would ever play at Copthorne, spirits where high and the boys were fired up for an end of season win. It was a quick fire game, the boys were playing some of the best football I have seen for a while. J Glascott was having a great game in goal flying around and saving balls left right and centre. The boys upfront where playing a great role as well with J Gache and...

It was time, the final match of the season for the already famous Copthorne U9A Football team, they were a team that was currently unbeaten and a team that were scared of no competition, a team that strikes fear into all their opponents eyes and they were a team waiting to make their season the best it could be! Taking to the field on this final encounter was Nemo B, Beau H, Ayaan K, Charlie P, Bradley S and goalie Rick G. A change to the normal team with usual defender Zach C out with an appendix...

The final match of the season had approached us and the B’s were keen to finish on a high! Taking to the field in the final battle was Zevon R, Aaryan P, Nick K, Luke M, Elliot M.D, Kieron E and Amardip A in the goal. Little did the B’s know that what was about to take place was going to be the most intense game they would have played yet. Right from the go the game was played at a ferocious pace and did not slow down at any point in the whole match. St Christopher’s were first to score...

So all the hard work finally paid off as we finished the season with a couple of wins away to St Christopher’s . Playing on a small pitch with long grass was always going to make the games a congested affair. The C Team played first and took a little while to get into their stride with the ball bobbling around an awful lot. Robert was the main danger with his pace and energy in midfield controlling the game and Robert duly opened the scoring direct from a corner. Sam and Toby continued to...

With Oli T and Josh P unable to play this week, a bare 11 forced into positional and personnel changes from last week’s win over Cumnor House, entered the field knowing their final game of the season was going to be a tough one. The boys started well, holding a high defensive line, tackling assertively in midfield and applying pressure down the flanks. Time after time the Copthorne defenders pushed out, to leave a frustrated striker offside, and looked very comfortable and difficult to break...
Colts As 5 St Christophers 5 Scorers: Tom (2), Chris, Matthew and Dylan Man of the match: Dylan Our final game of the football season saw us away yet again, this time at Hove, playing St Christophers on their slightly small pitch. We started brightly and took the lead, and for the first five minutes it really looked like it would be an easy game for us. We scored a second, but St Christophers fought back and by half time had levelled the tie. In the second half it was...
