U11 Rounders v Cumnor House Lost 5-16
Copthorne opened the first innings batting and although we made some excellent shots Cumnor’s very strong fielding prevented us from scoring many full rounders. Micki hit a great no ball and with Tori’s no ball it gave us an additional half rounder. However it was not enough as we ended with three and a half rounders. Although our fielding was not as strong as it has been we managed to get three of their players out. U11 Rounders v Ardingly – Won 11-8
Despite the grey day, the shone brightly on Copthorne as the girls really showed their potential despite the lack of practice last week. Although we didn’t win the toss, Copthorne fielded first. Our bowling was strong and Ardingly found it difficult to score especially as there was some strong fielding from Freya, Harriet and Tori. Our passing was accurate and fast and it wasn’t long before some of the batters were caught out with some great catches by Micki, Chloe and Emma. U9B Netball v Ardingly – Won 7-3
Yet another fantastic, sunny Wednesday afternoon and coming away with a win makes the day all that much more memorable. With this match being their first since half term, the girls were keen to be back on court. The first quarter Copthorne set the tone, quick movement with the ball and off the ball into space. Holly (C), teamed up well with Emily (WA), Madison (WD) and Emilie (GD) to win the ball back with some fantastic interceptions and passes, giving Clara (GA) and Maddie (GS) many opportunities in the D. Good News!
Some of the tracksuit tops have arrived! We are very hopeful that the rest of the order will be arriving before Christmas. Therefore the tops should all be in by Friday, 6th January when the shop reopens before School starts. Again, many apologies for the terrible delay experienced over the tracksuit tops. Also available to purchase in the shop is sock tape and I hope from 6th January a new supply of rugby stik mits will have arrived.
End of Autumn Term 2011
The School Shop will be closed for the last week of term – Monday 12th – 14th December but will open on Friday, 6th January before the Spring Term 2012 begins.
October Update
I can only apologise again for the delay in the tracksuit tops for the Prep School – I have been assured that they will be in by the end of half term. These tops were due in at the end of August – but apparently due to the economic situation in the world, this has held up the production. Anyway, they are now being completed and the shipment is due very shortly. Also the Prep sports bags should be arriving at the same time – again, this company is citing the same reason for this delay. School cardigans have all arrived read the full post »
