Dear Parents SKI TRIP 2nd – 10th April 2011 Following another hugely successful trip this Easter, I am now taking bookings for the 2011 trip. Mrs Jones and I have successfully organised over 24 school ski trips in the past (10 with the same company – Interski), and I can guarantee that all children from Year 3 to 8 will have a wonderful time. In their time away, they will not only learn or improve their skiing ability, but will also develop their independence, confidence, organisational skills,...

Several parents in the school (and some from outside too!) are going to take part in this walk on the 12th September. We will do it in memory of our fellow Mum, Janice Workman, who very sadly died in May this year. Janice’s husband and children will be taking part with us. It is 13 miles. THURSDAY 9th SEPTEMBER 7:30 PM IN THE RENDALL ROOM ALL PARENTS ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND Nursery (6.30pm), Reception & Year 2 (7.00pm) Parent Information Meetings will take place prior to the Cheese & Wine Party in the respective classrooms. The Information meeting for Year 1 parents will take place on Wednesday 8th September at 3.30pm  

On Sunday 27th June, Elliot Bayley competed in an Under 13 Junior Open Taekwon-do competition.  Representing East Grinstead, he won the gold medal in the Special Techniques category for his flying side kick!  

Thank you for all your efforts in raising such a huge amount of money at this year’s fete.  We are buying the following for the school: • Cricket/hockey bowling machine • Printing press and associated equipment for the Art Department • Minibus • Smart board, electronic drum kit ,electric guitar and piano stools for the Music Department • Sun shade for Pre-Prep outdoor classroom • Sun sail for large sandpit in Nursery and Pre-Prep • Money towards 3 new role play areas for Nursery Our... 

The Copthorne Chess Team travelled to St. Lawrence School, Hurstpierpoint last week to compete in the U11 Sussex Inter-Schools Competition.  2010 saw the largest entry of U11 teams (Year 6 and below) who compete in teams of 4 players for the Primary Cup. This tournament has always proved very successful and this year was no exception with 46 teams from 32 schools entering the event. To reach the final teams had to play in an initial round against local schools in the Autumn term, followed... 

Please let me know if you have a problem with your child’s start time. Please let me know if your child is NOT planning to swim or if parents DO wish to take part.  Please tell your child (or their teacher) if you are planning on watching them swim as we can delay start times until parents have arrived.  Goggles are probably essential if you intend swimming for a long time, as are racing type costumes not baggy Bermuda shorts!  Please let Matron or Mr Jenkins know if children will be boarding...
