Joshua competes in the Kent Grand Prix

Joshua Higgs ventured across the border last Sunday to compete in the Kent Junior Chess Association Grand Prix 5, held in the historic grounds of Dulwich College.  The playing area was sited in the shadow of Shackleton’s boat the James Caird and maybe this inspired Josh to score a very creditable 5/6.  Playing amongst a record entry of 64 players for the U11 competition, Josh walked away in 2= place with a £5 prize and a trophy to boot!  The Copthorne flag was flying high!
