Curriculum
Each week children receive Art and Design Technology lessons, taught by specialists in dedicated rooms. Regular awards and fine displays around the school testify to the standards attained at all ages.
Whilst class Music is taught throughout the school, many children learn instruments on an individual basis. There are weekly ensemble rehearsals, and the choir performs regularly.
Children of outstanding ability are prepared for music scholarships to senior schools. There are regular school concerts for both individuals and groups.
All classes have drama lessons, which give the children the opportunity for self-expression and for the growth of self-confidence. There are regular dramatic productions throughout the year.
Children become familiar with computers at an early age, and they have timetabled lessons each week. The children are able to experience a variety of applications, from simple word processing through to PowerPoint presentations and the internet. There are individual machines in classrooms.
All children receive Personal and Social Education each week, which provides them with a very valuable insight into themselves and into their relationships with those around them.
