Art Rational
Art makes a fundamental contribution to the curriculum. It is a unique form of expression, building powers of analysis, observation, articulation, imagination and the ability to formulate ideas. Art and Design provides students with a creative outlet and a visual and tactile understanding of the world and issues around them.
Aims and Objectives
The aims of the Art curriculum at Copthorne are to help pupils to: Become visually literate and able to use their artwork as a form of communication. Develop creative and technical skills to a high level.

Arts Day for Year 3 and 4
We all made out own individual scrap books in the morning and started to fill them with different sketches. Some drew parts of school whereas others looked at the natural environment. Year 3 had a great day which culminated in them cave painting outside – Mrs Wade was spying her new class outside...
A PLEA FROM MISS GODWIN …
… Buttons, poppers, ribbons. Old (clean) longish socks – to make sock monsters (plain and patterns). Any old unwanted interesting smallish objects…. such as an old typewriter, old watch/clock with cogs, old screwdrivers. Please note these items wont be returned!!
