Our Nursery

The Coach House Nursery started in 1997 and has been nurtured from the beginning by the same dedicated staff. Enthusiastic and qualified nursery teachers are in charge of the two age groups with the help of caring assistants and a staff:pupil ratio of 1:6. They are divided into two classes 2½ – rising 4, then rising 4 until entry into Reception.

Our lovely building provides a happy, purposeful environment for your son or daughter. We share a wonderful all-weather playground with the Pre-Prep department which includes an enormous sandpit, 2 climbing frames, a sports pitch, a pet corner and lots of bicycles.

The playground opens onto the sports field and down to the tennis courts and woods; all the children have a pair of Wellington boots at school so we can go on walks whatever the weather.

Children can attend mornings (a minimum of two in the younger class, and 3 in the older class) or full days, with a natural increase in the number of sessions as they grow older and move towards full-time schooling.

The Nursery years are crucial to a child’s development and learning should be absorbing, challenging and imaginative plus plenty of fun. In the Coach House, we are determined that every child should be given the very best possible start to their education and want to ensure that our children enter the Pre-Prep having established solid foundations on which to build.

Nusery Education Grant Vouchers are accepted. For further information, please contact the Head of Nursery and Pre-Prep, Susie Swadling on 01342 712365.
