The Great Race

The older children have been learning about Chinese New Year and how it all began with the Great Race. Twelve animals raced each other across the river to decide which one the New Year would be named after. The children learnt that the rat was clever, but cheated to win, and that the ox was the strongest. We used our PE session to race in teams of animals and this time the horses were the victors with the monkeys ending last, although the rabbits displayed some lovely jumping! Every child has embraced this story so please do follow it up at home.

The younger children have been blowing houses down, helped by the big bad wolf and the three little pigs. They have made some lovely houses using hay, sticks and brick prints and have coloured in some fierce looking wolves!

Next week is our Sponsored cycling event, so please ensure you collect as many sponsors as possible!
