Leavers’ Programme
The Leavers’ Programme is a highlight of a child’s career at Copthorne. Straight after the Common Entrance exams have finished, Year 8 disappear down to the south of France for a wicked week of watersports.
They spend their days learning to sail, windsurf and canoe and their evenings undertaking a range of team building and initiative challenges. There is also time for trips out to a local water park, to the highest sand dune in Europe and to local towns and villages. 
On return to school, they enjoy a further 3 weeks of superb opportunities including a comprehensive first aid course; trips to Twickenham, central London and Thorpe Park; learn to scuba dive and all usually manage to complete a 26 mile hike to Ditchling as well as a 30 mile cycle to Hartfield and back.
