Today we played in a 5 team tournament including Ardingly, Pennthorpe, Great Walstead and, the hosts, Windlesham House. We started brightly against Ardingly and should have taken the lead however we ended up losing the game 2-0 due to a lack of focus at the back. After a decent first half against Great Walstead we totally imploded and conceded 5 second half goals resulting in a 6-0 defeat. Windlesham were also too strong for us in the first half and took a 2-0 lead into the break. It was a better second half performance with a higher work rate which was pleasing to see. Unfortunately it did not last and the hosts grabbed 2 further late goals. In the final game against Pennthorpe we finally realised that effort can go a long way and in some cases outweigh ability. We certainly put up more of a fight but were still lacking in front of goal. Pennthorpe ran out 2-0 winners to end what was a rather difficult afternoon.
