Colts ‘A’ & ‘B’ Soccer v Cottesmore

It’s very pleasing to report on the progress that the Colts ‘A’ have made over the past week or two. Following some intensive training sessions focusing on defensive positioning, the team played very well against Cottesmore. I was not disappointed with the 0-0 draw as the improvements that have been made were evident throughout the match. A solid team performance and special mention of Ben in goal who made some excellent saves from the set piece and kept us in the game.

The ‘B’ team had a very exciting and evenly matched game. Good end to end football from both teams and some excellent passing moves made the game very enjoyable to watch. James was particularly solid in defence this week, winning everything in the air whilst Ben tidied up anything on the ground. After going one down, we attacked almost immediately with Jerome getting in on the end of an excellent cross from the right wing to steer the ball over the keeper to equalise. Unfortunately a slight lack of concentration following our goal allowed Cottesmore to sneak a second and win the match.
