Colts ‘A’ Rugby v St Aubyns – Won 57-7

Suffering from the withdrawal through injury and illness of a number of their key players, we were grateful that our opponents kept the fixture alive although it was reduced to 9-a-side with uncontested scrums. We were better in most areas of the game and whilst the result was never in any doubt after the first 5 minutes, I was encouraged by the way we passed the ball around and tried to attack the space. Rolling substitutes throughout the game gave everyone a break on the touchline, and the opportunity to play in some different positions, although we did run in tries from everywhere, irrespective of who was playing where! James Hayes crossed for 3,Tom Flavin 2, with Ben Kinnear, Jerome Gore, Benjamin Jennings and Ollie Tennant all touching down. James converted 5 and Ollie 1.
Another road trip to Hove next week to play Lancing Prep who will provide us with much sterner opposition, but our running and passing game is much improved.
Well played! CJ
