Colts B v Hazelwood

On the back of an encouraging performance the previous week against Great Walstead the B Team we keen to add to their try count for the season. The first half was a tight affair with the ball being kept by the forwards for the most of the half this meant that when the ball did get shipped out to our backs they were caught a little cold. As we moved towards the half time buzzer Hazelwood scored a well taken try through their tall winger. Unfortunately Hazelwood went over again right at the end of the half to lead 12-0.

To be fair we dropped our intensity in the second half and Hazelwood scored a number of good tries. There was however a moment of sunshine for our boys as the pack organised a rolling maul from 10 metres out and dropped over the line to score, with the large number of bodies in the maul it was difficult to pick up the try scorer but Austin did get up last with the ball in his hand so the try is given to him. We ended up losing 35-5, but a special mention must go to Elliott who worked his socks off and duly received praise from the Hazelwood coaches.  IP
