U11A v Great Walstead

From the start of the match it was clear that the U11’s were nervous and unfocused today and this showed in their play.Great Walstead used this to their advantage and were two goals up at the end of the first quarter. After a team talk Copthorne came back fighting in the second quarter and there were some great interceptions by the defenders Micki, Emma and Harriet as well as on court by Tori and Freya. As a result of this Copthorne won the second quarter, and levelled the score to 5 all at half time!

It was all to play for in the second half but unfortunately it was not the U11’s day today, and due to careless passing and too many errors on court, Great Walstead managed to pull ahead and take the lead which they held onto until the end, winning the match 11 goals to 9, which was a shame as Copthorne could and should have won this!

Sadly it was just not the U11s day however I’m sure with more practice, and a more postive and determined attitude the U11s will be back on form next week! My player of the match today has to go to Freya who fought to the very end! A good attempt girls, but lets have 100% effort and focus from everyone next week please!

Freya, Micky, Chloe, Prisha, Tori, Emma, Harriet. T.C
