U9 Rounders v Great Walstead – Won 18½-8

Well what another glorious day, followed by some superb teamwork and rounders! Ami captained the side today and although the U9s lost the toss this only made them more determined to go out and field well first. There was some great fielding from everyone today resulting in Copthorne getting all of Great Walstead’s players out before the innings was up! The whole team geled well together backing each other up, and remembering the gate position most of the time!! Elise took a great catch and the trio of Alice as bowler, Ami as backstop and Yelena on second post were again on fire! A special mention must also be said to Hermione, Amber and Ami whose fantastic fielding stopped 2 good rounders from being scored! Copthorne then went into bat and remembered everything they had being practising, with most of the girls scoring at least half from their hits, as well as whole rounders from Hermione, Elise and Yelena!
Copthorne were ahead after the first innings but they knew they had to stay focused as anything could happen in rounders so they came back just as strong with their batting, if not stronger with lots more half rounders scored and rounders from Amber, Madison, Elise and Emilie. Copthorne then went into field and everyone changed postions besides Ami as backstop, and once again there was some fantastic teamwork and fielding. Copthorne won the second innings and deservedly won the match 18½ rounders to 8!
Well done girls, super teamwork and rounders being played today, lots of effort stars all round!
