U10B Rounders v Hazelwood – Lost 10½-15

On Wednesday Copthorne travelled to Hazelwood for their rounders match and got the match underway by batting first. The girls batted sensibly and only risked running between posts towards the end of the innings. Natalie and Georgina top scored with 1½ rounders each in the first innings. Natalie was also on target with her bowling and didn’t give away too many no balls. After the innings the score was tied on 6½ rounders each.
The 2nd innings was played at a quicker pace and the girls made contact a lot more with the ball but Hazelwood stepped up a gear in the field and limited us to only 4 rounders. Eloise was the top scorer in the second innings. The girls continued to be on the ball in the field but Hazelwood game out firing in their 2nd innings at bat and scored some good rounders. In the end the home team comfortably reached the target.
