U9 Netball v Brambletye – Won 13-1

Despite the freezing artic conditions this afternoon the U9S braved the cold and came out triumphant!
There were a few changes this week with Holly stepping up to play after her hard work and improvement in games sessions. There were also a few girls away due to sickness so Emily and Clara also stepped up at the last minute and helped out today, thank you girls!

Despite the cold weather Copthorne dominated the play in the first two quarters allowing Brambletye very little possession. The shooters Alice and Yelena worked extremely hard today in the circle demonstrating some great movement and passing, and once they had got themselves warmed up they were all over the defence! The centre court players Holly and Ami both had a superb first half ( a whole game infact!) picking up loose balls, gaining valuable interceptions and just generally passing and moving well on court. The defence consisting of Emily, Clara, Ellie and Elise all had a good game also but a special mention must be said to Elise today who was outstanding as GD! By half time the girls were very cold but 7-1 up!

In the last two quarters of the match changes were made and the girls pace slowed due to the freezing conditions, however they battled on and managed to score another 6 goals putting the final score at 13 goals to Brambletyes 1!

Well done to all the girls who played today you never gave up despite the coldness, and thank you to Clara and Emily for playing up today at the last minute! Also a huge thank must be said to all the spectators who also braved the cold this afternoon, as your encouragement did spur the girls to carry on! I can not pick just one player of the match today as I thought all the girls did extremely well under this weeks conditions, however a special mention must be said to Ami, Elise, Yelena and Holly for their performances. Well done the U9s!

Ellie, Elise, Ami, Yelena, Holly, Alice, Clara and Emily. T.C
