U10 Rounders Triangular v Hurst & St. Christophers

The rain managed to stay away but the girls had to face another challenge, the wind. Our first match was against Hurst and they started the match like all the others quiet and a bit reserved. Fielding first the girls didn’t quite live up to their outstanding performance in the field but did manage to restrict Hurst to 3½ rounders in their innings.  Amanda added another catch to her name. Our turn to bat and the girls carried on from where they left off before half term. The running between posts was spot on and they judged the ball well to place it into the gaps and in the end comfortably eased past the required target scoring 6 rounders after one innings.

Copthorne batted first in their 2nd match against St. Christopher’s and put on an excellent display. The girls were aggressive and picked their spot very well.  Both Freya and Michaela showed why there are the two top batters each scored 3 fantastic rounders. Not to be out done Rebecca scored 2 of her own.  All the other girls pitched in and set a total of 13½ rounders. The girls’ fielding this time round was more polished and tight. Michaela’s bowling was once again on target, giving nothing away. It was Tori’s turn to take a high catch. Freya was all over 2nd post and the fielders got the ball quickly and early to her to stump players out. St. Christophers came into bat but luckily for us got off to a slow start. They did manage to accumulate few ½ rounders here and there and in the end scored a total of 5½ rounders.   Well done girls another fantastic performance!
