U10 & U11 Boys’ & Girls’ Inter Preparatory Schools Athletics Meeting at Hurst

Mr Day and I set off in the minibus to Hurst with a group of 11 young athletes. It was a good day, in between the showers, and we saw some great results;
Amber and Loren both came second in their respective age groups in the rounders ball - with Amber throwing 28.70 and Loren throwing 33.76. There were about 20+ competitors in both of these events! Well done Amber & Loren.
Gabriel and Charlotte competed in the high jump. Both competing well, but there were some very tall girls and boys from the other schools! Zach Riley was throwing the cricket ball and once again came up against boys a year older and much stronger; he recorded a throw of 28.24.
Ami, Karina, Tom & Amber were all in the sprint races and found themselves against really tough opposition.
Ami 75m 13:27, Karina 100m 16:75, Tom 100m 16:84 and Amber 200m 41:32.
Daniel Persad ran in both the 75m (12:44) and 200m (36:07) heats and successfully made the finals in both events.
He came 4th in the 75m final (12:69) and 5th in the 200m final (36:03). Once again competing against boys a year older.

Hermione and Daniel Westwood ran in the 800m and were again running up a year. Hermione had a fabulous race and finished in a brilliant 4th place (3:14.97), and Daniel came 6th, in a very strong field with a time of 3:05.25. Well done Hermione & Daniel.
