U10A Rounders v BHHS – Summer 2017

Copthorne opened the batting and initially it took a while for the girls to score. However Ella was soon zooming around the pitch after a fabulous hit. This was a catalyst for the rest of the team and soon they were all scoring half rounders. Although BHHS’s fielding was tight we managed to score 9½ rounders with only one batter lost. Our fielding was good too and despite some half rounders given to misfielding, Copthorne managed to prevent the opposition from scoring more than 6.

Our girls were ready for the second innings and the girls were set a target of one rounder each. They took that on board and went out to bat with a winning attitude. As a result they scored a further 8½ rounders. Our captain Annabelle chivied the team to tighten their fielding; which they certainly did. They caught out several players and managed to stump the batter’s box before the end of the innings.

It was a fabulous match and everyone enjoyed the sunshine. A big well done to Mrs Hamps who umpired her first match!
