U11B Rounders v Hazelwood – Lost 7-12½

It was like a Grand Prix trip getting to Hazelwood some very tight turns on the minibus, but finally we found the school.

With a short brisk walk to the school fields we were greeted by 11 players. Copthorne went into bat first and didn’t do to well with the 4 top bats women to be caught/stumped out. This gave Hazelwood a lift in morale and maybe knocked ours. So at the end of the first innings it was 7 – 4 to the opposition. Second innings was held a little due to a rain shower, once that had passed we started to field much stronger and some good fielding from, Jessica Bright & Victoria Smith. I was also pleased with Esme at backstop, her accuracy throwing the ball to Maisie (second post) was vital that it was consistent. Zoe bowled & caught a few balls, but sadly lost her confidence due to a slight twist on the ankle. All in all a very good close match.  Well done girls!   MC
