U11VII Netball v Great Walstead – Won 18-5

For the second week running, Copthorne came away with a comprehensive victory. Ball possession changed hands many times but it was Copthorne that settled down first and opened the scoring. In the first two quarters the girls’ passes and movement off the ball was fast and decisive with Charlotte controlling the play from the middle. Abigail (player of the match) was outstanding as GD making lots of interceptions and creating turnovers forcing the opposition to change their game plan. Going into half time Copthorne were leading 11-3 both Nia and Molly moving the ball around to get into the best position to shoot. The third quarter was completely the opposite, although not conceding any goals, thanks to Amber’s height creating some difficulties for their GS, our passing was weak and off target. In the last quarter the girls pulled themselves together and ended with a flurry of goals. Hannah, Sarena and Rosie also had a good game, they were tight with their marking and quick to put the pressure on. The girls’ communication on the court was fantastic and even a few changes of positions didn’t have any affect on their performance. Well done girls!! HP
