U8 Indoor Hockey v Brambletye – lost 4-1 and 1-0

This week the U8s played in their first hocky match against Brambletye. We had two mixed teams this week, Team 1 and Team 2.

Team 1 played first, Captained by Ella Cavedaschi, against Brambletye A team. The girls got off to a good start and were passing the ball well. This was their first game tackling too and some of the girls were a little shocked when they were tackled by the opposing team and experienced a few bumps and hits. This disheartened the girls. After a little team talk the girls were ready to go back on and play. Sheen Dullo made some fantastic tackles in defence while Ella Cavedaschi and Charlotte Radley made some good runs into the D.

The final score finished 4-1 to Brambletye.

The second match saw Copthorne’s Team 2 take on a Brambletye mixed team. The girls had watched Team 1 play and were a little more prepared and ready to tackle and fight for the ball. The girls once again got off to a good start with Katherine Radley and Ilana Burroughs-Marsh passing to each other well and making good runs. Despite their best effort and enthusiasm the final score was 1-0 to Brambletye.

My player of the match was Ilana Burroughs-Marsh.

Well done to all the girls who played. A good first game!
