U9 Netball v Cottesmore – Won 14-0

This week the U9s took on Cottesmore. Amber Buggins was the captain and unfortunately we lost the toss but chose which way we were going to shoot.

The girls made a very strong start with Amalia Finnegan winning back the centre pass. The girls moved well into space and dodged their opponents to score the first goal. They continued to dominate throughout the first quarter, passing well and making lots of interceptions; the shooters were on form too! The score at the end of the first quarter was 7-0 to Copthorne.

Copthorne were clearly the stronger team so we played versatility for the next quarter. Play was a little more even and Cottesmore were making some good interceptions in the D. Clara Vincent scored the only goal making the score at the end of the first half 8-0 to Copthorne.

In the second half the girls continued to switch around positions giving the defence a chance to attack and have a go at shooting. The girls continued to play well getting into space and making lots of good interceptions. In the final quarter goals were scored by Amber Buggins and Yelena Finnegan. The final score finished 14-0 to Copthorne.

This was a fantastic performance and a fantastic win. The girls proved they can play in any position and still play well as a team.

Thank you to all the girls who played and all the supporters.
