Under 9 Rugby v Cottesmore

Copthorne    8    Cottesmore    3

Try Scorers:  Harry, Charlie, Elliot, Amardip, Beau (2), Bradley (2).

It was a freezing cold afternoon this Wednesday as our Under  9s played at home to Cottesmore.  Our opponents only had 7 players, so it was slightly reduced teams that contested this fixture.  We started quite strongly with Charlie and Elliot scoring early tries and Bradley getting 2 more to make it 4 tries to nil at half time.  We had tackled quite well, as Cottesmore had a couple of strong runners who took quite a lot of stopping.  Zevon made some strong forward runs for us and Charlie also had a good game.

In the second half, I changed almost the whole team to make it a better contest, and this proved to be the case with a lot of very cold boys out there and not too many tackles being made.  Harry scored an early try, but Cottesmore started putting us under some pressure and deserved to score their three tries in the second half, though our defending at some points was a little disappointing.  Beau made a big impact in attack and scored twice and Amardip also got over the line, so we just won the second half 4 tries to 3.  It was great to get an unexpected bonus fixture near the end of the term, and well done to all 15 boys who played.
