Copthorne boys excel at National Chess Competition

Four members of the Copthorne Chess Team travelled to Wellington College last Saturday to compete in the UK Chess Challenge which started back in January across the country with 68,000 children entering nationwide. 41 boys from Sussex schools aged between 7 and 10 qualified for the Southern Gigafinal, becoming part of the last 2,500 players left in the competition nationwide – a fantastic achievement.

Congratulations to Daniel Gooda, Josh Higgs, Jamie Ward and James Reid
