 A small extract from the Crawley News: “CRAWLEY’S younger swimmers did the club proud, winning a large haul of medals in the Sussex Championships age group events held at K2. Federica Williamson has been a force in the county over the last year and has the potential to be a top performer at the club for some time to come. The talented 12-year-old dominated her age group, winning four gold medals, at breaststroke, butterfly, freestyle and individual medley plus two silvers and a bronze placing her as the overall Sussex County Champion for the second year running”.

Veronica Williamson came 7th in the County in her age group winning 2 bronze medals and achieving the fastest qualifying time in the 200m breaststroke. Federica has also passed successfully her Grade 3 piano exams.

Congratulations to Lucy Billingham-West who at the East Grinstead Festival came 2nd in her Speech & Drama – Verse Speaking section and at the evening’s dance awards presentation, she was awarded the Thomas George Cup for the “Most Promising Classical Ballet Dancer” (12 years and under).

On Sunday 3rd May Nia Thomas played in the CD Phoenix Junior Netball competition. She played for CD phoenix Sapphires. Nia’s team came 2nd out of 9 teams and they were 5 points off from winning the whole competition. All the members of the team were awarded silver medals for coming in 2nd place. Nia also got another medal for playing for Sussex for the whole season.

Congratulations to Samuel Lloyd who received “the most improved player” award of the season – playing prop for the U11 East Grinstead rugby team. This is a fantastic achievement for Sam – all his hard work, strength and determination has shone through this season.

Congratulations to Yelena and Amalia Finnegan (Year 1) who have been awarded their Level 5 badge at Horsham Gymnastics Club.
