This week in Year 2 the children have been developing their measuring skills. We have been investigating the difference between millimetres (mm) and centimetres (cm) and kilometres (km) and thinking about what we would measure each with. In science the children have used their improved measuring skills to investigate the size of their hand spans. When measuring with a ruler, we were very careful to start measuring at 0. This really helped us to be accurate and for everything to have the same results. Before beginning our investigation, we predicted who would have the largest hand span. Some people through that the tallest children would have the biggest hand spans but others did not agree. What do you think?
