Year 2 have enjoyed a busy and varied week. Crawley Fire Fighters visited us on Monday afternoon. I am sure that parents will be reminded about the importance of smoke detectors after the talk on fire safety. Please make sure that your child knows your address in case it is necessary to call 999, to summon the emergency services.

The children climbed into the cab of the fire engine and had a close up view of the high tech equipment that is carried on a modern fire engine. The hydraulic rescue tool called the Jaws of Life, used for cutting off the roof of a car, was particularly fascinating. Birthday Boy Michael was invited to try the high pressure hose! It will be an interesting comparison when we research firefighting equipment during the great fire of London!
