Mrs Frith’s class went for a walk to look for some living things in a woodland habitat. We had great fun looking for mini-beasts and saw a beetle, woodlouse, spider and a centipede. We even saw a squirrel. After looking closely at them through a magnifying glass we sketched them and thought about why the woodland was a good place for these creatures to live. We are enjoying looking at our caterpillars, which are growing fast. It shouldn’t be long before they turn into the next stage of their life cycle.
Art is very exciting at the moment. The children have designed William Morris inspired repeat patterns. The detail and delicacy of some of the design is outstanding! William Morris would be envious. We intend to make a printing block of the design to decorate some calico bags.
