U8 Rounders v Hazlewood – Lost 14-7

The girls took on Hazlewood this week in their second match of the week. The team was captained by Charlotte Radley and we lost the toss so batted first.
Hazlewood bowled really well and Copthorne found it hard to hit the ball and score. A full rounder was scored by Rosie Home and the batting score was a small 1½. Copthorne now needed to field tightly. The girls fielded well but Hazlewood batted well scoring 5½.
Copthorne were still in the game and ready to score rounders now. Full rounders were scored by Charlotte Radley, Ella D and Kitty Tucker- Brown. The girls batted much better and scored 5½. During the second innings the girls didn’t field as well with Hazlewood scoring 8½.
This meant the final scores were 7 to Copthorne and 14 to Hazlewood. the girls really enjoyed playing and should be congratulated on a good rounders season. Well done!
