Let me first start by saying wow today, after watching this weeks performances from both U9 team. I felt privileged and proud to be able to watch and coach, and be part of ‘team Copthorne’! It was a shame that both teams only got to play two halves each and their game was cut short today, as some superb netball was played from every individual!
After watching the U9Bs get off to a flying start the As were eager to get going and to bring it home for Copthorne, this they did!
Training and a little ‘team talk’ this week definitely paid off and what a turn around from last week! Rosie was on top form today and was launching herself all over the court gaining valuable and quite frankly amazing interceptions, Katherine M was like Rosie’s partner in crime today and wasn’t far behind stealing the ball from Cumnor! Neve also had a great game as GK and managed better with her balance and agility, well done Neve! The centre court players Ella C and Amelia applied what we had used in training effectively and working tirelessly time after time again to get the ball up the court and into the shooters. Charlotte and Ella D proved that ‘practice can make perfect’ and after all the shooting practice we had done in games this week, they managed between them to score 6 fabulous goals, 3 goals each, and were unlucky not to get a few more!
All in all today, in the words of the girls it was an ‘AWESOME’ performance from all of the U9s, and one that we hope to repeat next week!
Well done to all of the U9s today, you were all stars and therefore are all my players of the match this week! Ella C also deservedly got picked by Cumnor as their player of the match today too, well done Ella!
Thank you to all the parents that came to watch and support the U9s today I hope you were as proud of their performanaces as I was! Also a big thank you to Miss Cook for all her help this afternoon! TC
