Nursery fun!

The nursery has had great fun learning about Africa this week and reading ‘Handa’s Surprise’. Lily spent a lot of time making her Lego House which turned out amazingly well! Acorns class made some lovely brown hedgehogs, using oak leaves to make them extra spiky!

Year 8

Year 8 are preparing to paint a canvas in Art. They had to create a mood board to get some inspiration and plan their designs. They will use the measured drawing method to make sure that their plans looked exactly like their canvas!

Year 7 Science

16th November 2020

Year 7 used red cabbage as a pH indicator in Science this week. They cut the cabbage into small pieces, added a bit of water and crushed it until the liquid turned purple. They tested vinegar, toothpaste, shaving cream and other substances to find out how acidic they are!

Year 6 Art

Year 6 have been creating their own digital landscapes on the iPads using an app called Sketchbook. They had taken their own photos of landscapes and were challenged to draw them onto the app by layering the colours on top of each other.

Year 5 Art

Year 5 have been was drawing in the style of Patrick Caulfield, an English painter and printmaker known for his bold canvases. Although they have just started, they are making great progress and we can’t wait to see the final designs!
