Scholarships and Bursaries

Copthorne Prep School has an outstanding reputation for helping children successfully gain entry into the senior school of their choice and many of these children enter with scholarships. Last year 58% of our Year 8 children received scholarships to their next schools and 100% of children were successful at gaining a place in their first choice school. On average, over the last 13 years, every child has got into their first choice school and over 50% have done this with a scholarship.

In order to maintain and enhance this impressive record, we offer scholarships for outstanding children who excel academically, or have a particular talent in music, sport, art, chess or drama. A combination of strengths could result in an all-rounder scholarship.

Scholarship Assessment 2020

For further information on our 2020 scholarship assessment process, please download our guide below. To apply on behalf of your child, please ensure that you return the application form, together with our registration form and the non-refundable registration fee of £100.  The registration fee may be paid either by cheque (made payable to ‘Copthorne School Trust Ltd’) or directly into the school account: Account number: 31370322   Sort code: 60-06-20. We will, of course, acknowledge safe receipt of your forms and payment.

* Please note that the deadline for receipt of applications is 5.00pm on Friday 31 January 2020.

Key Dates

Academic Scholarship – children will be assessed during the week commencing Monday 2 March 2020

Art/Music/Drama/Sport/All-Rounder Assessments will be held in the week commencing Monday 9 March 2020 (Please note that portfolio’s/external references/supporting evidence etc. will need to be submitted to the school by Friday 6 March 2020 at the latest).

Results will be emailed to parents by Friday 20 March 2020.
