Woolly Wonders in Knitting Club

Knitting Club has been bursting with colour, chatter, and creativity! With baskets full of wool in every shade of the rainbow, our young knitters have been busy looping, stitching, and dreaming up all sorts of fun creations. From wobbly first stitches to curly scarves and mini masterpieces, everyone is having a go and discovering just how creative a ball of yarn can be. It’s all about trying, laughing, and making something marvellous together!

Little Bookworms Club

Our Little Bookworms have been busy exploring the magic of stories each week. The children love choosing their own books from our beautiful library, sharing them with friends, and enjoying the wonderful pictures and tales they discover. We feel very lucky to have such a special space where a love of reading can grow!

Art Club Buzzing with Creativity

Art Club was a hive of activity this week as pupils explored a variety of creative projects, including sketching, painting, and paper crafts. Some children focused on improving their drawing accuracy by using the grid method—a technique that involves copying an image one small section at a time. This method helped them carefully place lines, shapes, and proportions, resulting in impressively precise artwork.

Year 5 Learning from London Landmarks

Last Tuesday, Year 5 set off into London for a special Global and English combined trip. Their class reader is set in Elizabethan London, so it was a fantastic opportunity to visit such wonderful historic sites, that are both featured in the story. At the Tower of London, the children learnt all about Sir Walter Raleigh and Alice Tankerville and their daring deeds and escapes!

At St Paul’s, the Year 5 s had an opportunity to take in the wondrous architecture, paintings and mosaics. As they were guided through the cathedral, the children sat where the choristers usually sit as well as touch and talk about Henry Moore’s sculpture, ‘ Mother and Child’.

What a brilliant day!

Year 6 Tales from Canterbury

As part of their leavers programme the Year 6s spent last Friday at Canterbury. Frist, they took in the beautiful sights on   a ‘selfie tour’ of the medieval city soaking up the marvellous history and incredible architecture that it possesses. This was then followed by an opportunity for the children to buy their own lunch and do a little shopping. This year’s cohort are extremely independent and it was  an absolute pleasure to accompany them.

Year 4 Pedal Power

Under the bright morning sun, 4SB took to the playground with confidence and determination as they tackled their Bikeability cycling proficiency tests. The session was packed with drills, instructions, and plenty of pedalling, as the pupils learned how to navigate safely and skilfully on two wheels.

From mastering hand signals to practising safe starts and stops, the group showed fantastic focus and energy throughout the morning. Their efforts paid off—every rider earned a well-deserved badge, ready to be proudly displayed on their school blazers. Perseverance led to personal triumphs—congratulations, 4SB!

Shining Stars at The Hawth

Congratulations to our Inspire Dance pupils who gave their all with fantastic performances at The Hawth Theatre in Crawley last weekend. Our dancing stars shone bright! Well done.

Fun at PGL!

Our Year 5 and 6 PGL trip was a fantastic adventure all about overcoming fears, stepping outside comfort zones, and learning the power of teamwork. Every single child rose to the challenge, and staff were truly impressed by their incredible can-do attitudes.

For many, it was their first time away from home — and we are proud to say that not a single child experienced homesickness. A real testament to their resilience and enthusiasm!

The activities at the centre, including the giant swing, trip wire, and Jacob’s Ladder, pushed both children and staff out of their comfort zones, especially when it came to heights. Meanwhile, raft building tested everyone’s teamwork and communication skills — and they passed with flying colours!

It was inspiring to see every child collaborate, support one another, and return to school more confident, with stronger friendships and unforgettable memories.

Well done, children — and a huge thank you to the staff for your time, care, and endless enthusiasm.

Passing Bikeability with Flying Colours

Passing Bikeability with Flying Colours

Congratulations to pupils in 6LD who have all passed their Bikeability Level 2 course run by the Surrey Cycle Team. Learning vital skills to cycle safely on the road meant they needed to conquer balance, bike control and signalling. Well done all!
