Mrs Flower and I were delighted with the LAMDA results that arrived this week for the students who sat their examinations in March, just before Easter. They achieved 100% pass rate and some extremely impressive marks including 100% for Rosie E, Matilda H and Harley B which is both rare and outstanding.
We were particularly delighted with the Year 8 results. These students have been preparing for their examination since September 2018 which may seem like a long time but when you consider all the other commitments they have during this period- it really flashes by. They have all managed to juggle Entrance Exams and Scholarship auditions, visits to new schools, music lessons and exams, chess and sporting fixtures……. the list in endless! Their calm, determination, diligence and enthusiasm has paid off as they all excelled in the recent LAMDA exams and will be starting their new schools with a solid and impressive Grade 5 LAMDA qualification on their record.
The Shakespeare Examination is a recent addition to the LAMDA syllabi. It is a challenging examination demanding that students show not only their interpretative skills and technical ability but also their knowledge of Shakespeare, his life and work. Congratulations to Biba M, Lowenna F, Ella C, Robin P and Eva Z who rose to this challenge, worked incredibly hard and did exceptionally well.
Many thanks to all parents who support both their children and us in listening to pieces and encouraging rehearsal. I know that we wouldn’t be so successful without your input and for that we are most appreciative.
LAMDA exams are growing rapidly in popularity and I am very busy as both a LAMDA teacher and a LAMDA examiner. I am passionate about these examinations especially when I see the progress all students make when studying for these examinations. There is no doubt that students develop the skills and knowledge they need to be a confident communicator which is especially important in this modern age when so much ‘communication’ takes place by text, email, Facebook, WhatsApp etc.
The deadline for registering for LAMDA examinations has now passed. Should you wish me to place your child on the waiting list, I will do my very best to accommodate them but I can offer no guarantees at this stage. If you require any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
With very best wishes for a peaceful and sunny Summer break.
