This week has been another typically busy, productive and successful five days, highlighted by a wonderful World Book Day yesterday, with creative costumes in abundance from children and staff plus a visit from author Tony Bradman. You will find lots of photos in the Photo Gallery. Don’t forget to look at the video (on social media or the school website under Our School/Videos).
We have officially launched the Copthorne Triathlon that will take place on Sunday 19 May, and would like to extend our invitation to parents (either individually or as a team) to enter. All proceeds will go to the school Astro Appeal fund.
The Year 7 LC Parents’ Evening was a first for a Wednesday evening, but proved to be effective for both parents and staff. A junior swim gala; Year 7 trip to Snowdonia presentation; C team chess match; cross-country running at Worth; rugby 7’s at Windlesham and round 2 of our academic scholarship process has all created the buzz of excitement that pervades the school at the moment. Mary Poppins rehearsals in Year 3 and 4 are coming together nicely so don’t forget to book your tickets for the show in the last week of this term.
Congratulations to our U10 netballers who won the EGNA tournament at Burgess Hill and the U9 hockey players were also winners of the Burgess Hill school tournament.
I am off to Kiev and Moscow from March 18 – 26 to attend exhibitions with educational agents in our attempt to recruit more international boarders so I will be out of school. Mr Close/Mrs Swadling will be running things during my absence although I will be picking up emails as normal.
Good luck to the Surrey and Old Burstow Pony Club, who are using the school facilities on Sunday for the non-riding parts of their tetrathlon (swimming/shooting/running)!
Have a good weekend.
