Congratulations to everyone on the wonderful array of costumes worn to school on our Dressing-Up Day. All the children, and all the staff, were dressed up as their favourite character from a book or poem and it was extremely difficult to choose the winners. There were Cats in their Hats, Wallies and a Wanda or two, a good sprinkling of Harry Potters, an abundance of Rapunzels, Sleeping Beauties and Angelina Ballerinas, a couple of Tintins, enough Captain Hooks to sink the ship and mice, rabbits, frogs and ducklings popping up all over the department!
The following Pre-Prep children received gold coins for their particularly imaginative costumes:
Polly – Aslan the Lion
Antony – Patrick from Sponge-Bob Square Pants
Belle – Little Miss Muffett
Alexander – Six Dinner Sid
Matthew V – Giant from Jack & the Beanstalk
Matthew B – Mr Guingog
Ruari – Zorro
William S – White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland
Henri – An Oompa Loompa
Mallory – Doctor Who (complete with a Tardis cake and a moving K9!)
A special mention to Tali for her wonderful Pelican from The Giraffe, Pelly and Me, and also to Finley for his Alien in Underpants!
Thank you to all who have supported the book fair this week; with your support we have lots of lovely new books for the library! The children learnt some wonderful poems for our Poetry Day and the staff’s unrehearsed, unscripted version of the Three Little Pigs was great fun for the children and nerve-wracking for the adults!
