Cheeky Monkeys and new sounds!

You may have spotted some cheeky monkeys in the Younger Nursery …The children have made some cute chimpanzees with moving arms and legs using split pins and have been reading lots of monkey stories, including the wonderful story ‘Dear Zoo’. Also this week we made some rather splendid lions with ‘handprint manes’ which along with the monkeys are proudly displayed around the class.

The Older Nursery classes have learnt the sounds g, o, c & k this week and activities included planting grass seeds in tights to create some funny little grass head men, squeezing oranges and tasting the juice, making kites and trying to fly a kite in the field, but the highlight has been welcoming 5 new additions to the class … Colin, Clara, Clarissa, Clive and Carl are our new baby caterpillars and we hope with the right care and attention we will be watching 5 beautiful butterflies fly off! (hopefully just in time for when we learn the letter b! )
