Colours, Counting and Experiments

The children in the younger nursery class have been learning all about the colour blue this week. They used powder paint to decorate squares in different shades of blue and also made some stained glass windows with blue tissue paper. Next week’s colour is yellow and the children will be getting busy with the glitter to make stars!

Meanwhile the older children have been learning the rhyme ‘Ten Green Bottles’. We have been counting backwards from 10 and using our new interactive display to take each bottle down one at a time. We learnt that if you mix blue and yellow powder paint together you get green and we experimented with oil and food colouring inside plastic bottles.

Next week we are learning the rhyme ‘Five Little Ducks’ and will be getting sticky with feathers!
