This week in Acorns and Pippins class we have been busy making our classroom all wintry! We made some shape snowflakes and some lovely snowmen … all we need now is some real snow! We have been counting up and down from 5 and started to recognise some numerals too.The children in Oaks have been talking about their families and we enjoyed hearing how the children help around the home and garden; thank you for the photos which we will use in our displays. The children have learnt to sequence pictures of a baby, child, adult and an elderly person. They also painted or drew pictures of their parents! At Francis Court, the children and residents played with playdough, coloured some pictures and made some patterns with the small coloured beads. We said a sad farewell to Val, the Francis Court activities co-ordinator who is taking early retirement. She said she will miss the children from our Nursery very much and hopes to still see us occasionally when we are there on our weekly visits. We decided that she also counts as someone ‘who helps us’. Next week we will be finding out how the Police help us and are expecting a visit the following week from a Police Officer.
