The older nursery children have had another busy week learning their letter sounds. We went for an i, i, i, insect hunt in the woods and were delighted to find a family of woodlice, an ant, some slugs, a snail and a tiny spider! The children paired up, one holding a magnifying glass and the other a tick sheet. We found it to be a lot of fun so will be repeating the activity soon.
Other activities this week included building t,t,t,towers and making p,p,p,pasta n,n,n,necklaces. Next week we are hoping to make some g,g,g,g,grass heads so any donations of unwanted ‘skin coloured’ thin tights or pop socks will be most gratefully received!
The younger class have continued their Under the Sea discovery and have created some crabs decorated with orange lentils as well as some pretty jellyfish, using paper plates and crèpe paper. Next week they are going to be learning all about zoo animals and enjoying the well-known story ‘Dear Zoo’.
