Nursery News – Week 4

1st October 2016

Pippins Class have been looking at all things yellow this week; they have hand painted some beautiful golden suns and collaged some lovely fluffy yellow ducklings.

Acorns class have also been looking at yellow and also the shape of a star, they have painted and glittered different size stars and stuck them on top of each other to make a 3d model, they have baked some delicious star cookies and made some bright yellow icing to decorate.

Both classes had another super session in the woods, this time collecting acorns, stones and sticks, as well as filling up their own bottle which was then stuck with tape to make their own musical shakers.

Oaks class have been busy learning about Doctors and Nurses. They have turned their role play into a surgery, so lots of appointments have been made to have bandages changed and all the babies are now wearing plasters. They have learnt the song ‘Miss Polly had a dolly’ and have made little Miss Polly puppets. They have made their own stethoscopes to listen to each other’s heartbeats. We had a lovely visit from Dr Dooris who told us all about how she helps people and helps to make them feel better. They also had a lovely time in the woods collecting different coloured and shaped leaves which they then arranged into human footprints!
