The Under 11 netball team are the star performers of the week, losing narrowly in the final of the South East Regional IAPS netball tournament, but qualifying for the National finals later this term held at Epsom College. The girls lost 4 – 6 in the final having won all their other 8 matches reasonably comfortably, without injured player Martha, who should now be fit for the finals! Well played Harley, Ella, Biba, Tianna, Clara, Lowenna, Layla, Talia and Ffion.
Having done so well on the sports field, most of these girls performed with other talented Year 5 and 6’s at the Spring Concert that evening. It was wonderful to see how much the children have progressed since their last concert.
Close behind in the team of the week stakes were our D team chess players (all Year 3 children – Niamh, Arun, Moiz and Goshan) who scored a magnificent 11½ out of 12 points playing much older Under 11 opposition. It was a wonderful afternoon of chess – more news and photos can be found in the newsletter.
Next Thursday is World Book Day – we are looking forward to hearing about (and seeing) favourite book characters! Information was sent out to you earlier this week via Clarion.
Good luck to the Year 2 children at the Hawthorn’s soccer tournament tomorrow, and the Under 9 boys who are playing rugby at Crawley RFU tomorrow.
